Minulbên. “Meneldur, (lit.) servant of the stars”
Meneldur is the father of Aldarion. He gave up his title in order for Aldarion to have free reign in his decision to give aid to Gil-Galad or not, though he reigned as regent during at least one of his son’s voyages.
The first element minal is rendered into its objective form (minul) due to bên being derived from a hypothetical root √BIN (“to serve”), and thus serving a verbal function in a compound, much like bêth in izindu-bêth (“prophet, (lit.) true-sayer”).
In Primitive Adûnaic (the native tongue of his times), his name would have most likely been rendered as Minulbain.
